How do maternal and early-life experiences shape development and life history?

What are the consequences of these effects for individuals and populations?

Welcome to the website for the Evolution and Vector Ecology (EVE) lab, led by Sinead English, in the School of Biological Sciences, University of Bristol. We combine modelling, comparative and empirical approaches to investigate questions such as why some species give birth to live young, and the consequences of extreme maternal investment for evolutionary and population processes.

Read about our research and get in touch if you are interested in learning more or to discuss ways to join us. We will advertise funding opportunities when available, but are always happy to discuss potential research Masters, PhD or early career fellowship projects.
